We're building an app that lets technicians file their service report without typing.

It's called Quedó, which is what people in Mexico say when a job is done. The idea is that the report reaches whoever needs it right away, or as soon as there's signal.

Quedó is our first product. At Facilita we make software for maintenance teams, and for the companies that provide that service. It's still in design, so we're looking for people to try it first, at no cost.

On-site service reports

The problem

In a maintenance or installation company, every job ends with a report. It records what was found, what was done, which parts were used and who signed off on the work. The office uses that report to invoice or to honor a warranty.

That report is written by the technician, whose attention is on fixing the problem. So it gets done later, sometimes at night, when they're tired and no longer remember exactly what they found or what they used. Until then, the only record is the before-and-after photos sent over WhatsApp.

So the report reaches the office incomplete or with mistakes. Someone in admin has to go back to the technician to ask what they did, while the report the owner needs, or the one needed to invoice, gets lost. If the equipment fails again, it takes much longer to find out what was done the first time. A good report is also what keeps the company in good standing with its client.

  1. 1The technician finishes the job
  2. 2The report gets written later, from memory
  3. 3It reaches the office incomplete
  4. 4Admin has to ask again
  5. 5The invoice waits

What we heard

To understand how reports get done today, we talked with technicians, engineers and maintenance managers, and saw how the work happens in the field. They told us the same thing. Two of them put it like this:

“If we lose signal, we lose the report.”

Equipment installer (translated from Spanish)

“If there's no record, it's as if the service never happened.”

Maintenance manager (translated from Spanish)

On-site service reports

There are plenty of programs for service reports. Several don't work offline, are complicated, or are built more for the office than for the technician. Sometimes a company has already paid for software its technicians barely use.

With Quedó we want to give technicians a simple tool, one they can use and are willing to use. Instead of typing, they'll be able to dictate what they found, take the photos and get a signature from whoever receives the work. The report puts itself together. As soon as the technician finishes, it goes wherever your company already receives reports, whether that's WhatsApp, your ERP or your CRM, so it reaches whoever needs it right away.

We're designing it based on those conversations, so it works without signal and sends the report as soon as there's a connection again.

Where Facilita is going

At Facilita we're building a software suite for maintenance work, in the field or in the office, from the technician's report to inventory. Quedó is the first part.

Each product will start from one specific process in maintenance work, and from the person who does it every day. The technology, AI included, stays in the background. Whoever uses the app shouldn't have to notice it.

Who it's for

Service companies

They install, repair or maintain equipment for other businesses: air conditioning, elevators, electrical, plumbing, CCTV, solar panels.

In-house maintenance teams

Universities, hotels, office buildings or shopping malls that look after their facilities with their own staff.

Either way, we design for the technician first, since they're the one who writes the report.

What your company gets

Many of today's tools work, but they cost time because they weren't designed for the people who use them. We start with that person.

A tool technicians actually want to use gives the office complete reports on time. That means less back and forth between technicians and admin, and invoices that go out sooner.

Try Quedó

We're looking for 10 companies in Mexico City to try Quedó first, at no cost.

We're starting with maintenance and installation companies, but anyone can sign up. Your feedback helps even if you don't work at one.

When the app is ready, we'll ask you to use it on real jobs and tell us what works for you and what doesn't. We'll keep improving it with that feedback. If it works for your company, we'd like to become your software provider down the line.
